NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

HOW TO ENTER: The Meijer May 2012 Pawstakes Sweepstakes begins at 12:01 A.M. ET on May 1, 2012 and ends at 11:59 P.M. ET on May 31, 2012 (the "Sweepstakes Period"). During the Sweepstakes Period you can enter online at meijerpets.com by creating an account and follow the online instructions, including providing all the required information. NOTE: There is no charge or cost to creating an account. Limit one (1) entry per person per month regardless of e-mail address used. By creating the account and entering the Sweepstakes, you agree to receive future e-mails from Meijer regarding its products and promotions. All online entries must be received during the Sweepstakes Period. You must be the registered subscriber of the e-mail account provided at the Sweepstakes sign in and the e-mail address provided must exist prior to the start date of the Sweepstakes.
ELIGIBILITY: You must be a legal resident of the United States living in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan or Ohio and 21 years of age or older at time of entry. Employees of Meijer and Purina and their parent, related, subsidiaries, affiliates, representatives or agencies, and their immediate families or persons residing in the same household of such employees, (collectively "Sponsor & Others") and other individuals/entities associated with this Sweepstakes, are not eligible to enter or win. This Sweepstakes is void where prohibited or restricted by law and is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. If you or someone in your household has won a Meijer Sweepstakes or contest in the last three (3) months, you are ineligible for this Sweepstakes.
3. PRIZE, ODDS OF WINNING PRIZE and APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE ("ARV"): The prizes for this sweepstakes consist of the following (collectively, the "Prize"): ONE (1) Winner will receive a month worth of Purina Pet food, to be awarded as 5 - $10 Coupon for Purina products, and $50 in Meijer Gift Cards. Total ARV: $100. All other costs associated with the Prize not specified or mentioned and all applicable Federal State and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the Winner. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Purchase will not increase your chances of winning. Meijer Gift Cards must be used in compliance with their terms and conditions as stated at meijer.com/content/content_leftnav_manual.jsp?pageName=giftcard_terms. No prize substitution or cash equivalent of prize, except at sponsor's sole discretion, and then only for a prize of equal or greater value. The Sponsor & Others make no warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the use of the Prizes including, without limitation, quality, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
DRAWING: On June 7, 2012, a random drawing from all eligible entries will be conducted by Meijer to select the potential winner that meets all the requirements of these rules will be awarded the Prize. The potential winner will be notified by Meijer on or about the day of the drawing by supplied contact information. The potential winner will be required to sign and return a notarized Affidavit of Eligibility/Compliance (including, without limitation, providing his/her respective Social Security Number for tax purposes) and a Liability/Publicity Release, as allowed by state law, by the return date specified in the prize notification letter. Additionally, the winner will receive an I.R.S. Form 1099 in the amount of the actual value of the Prize, as required by law for tax reporting purposes. If any required documents are not returned within the required number of days, or if mail is returned to Sponsor, Sponsor will have the right to select an alternate winner.
RELEASE: All entrants agree to release the Sponsor & Others from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses of any kind to persons and property, including any accident, loss, injury or death resulting from entry into the sweepstakes and/or occurring or in any way related to the prizes.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: Entrant agrees that Sponsor & Others are not responsible or liable for and entrant hereby releases Sponsor & Others from any claims arising from: (1) incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information or late, lost, stolen, illegible, incomplete, misdirected, or entries received through impermissible or illegitimate channels, all of which will be disqualified; (2) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunctioning of any telephone, computer, network, hardware or software; (3) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any service; (4) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Sweepstakes; (5) electronic or human error which may occur in the administration of the Sweepstakes or the processing of entries; or (6) any injury or damage to persons or property, including but not limited to entrant's computer, which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant's participation in the Sweepstakes or from downloading any material from Sponsor's or Promoter's Website(s), regardless of whether the material was prepared by any Sponsor, Promoter, or a third party, and regardless of whether the material is connected to a Sponsor's or Promoter's Website by a hypertext link.
PRIVACY: Sponsor's use and collection of information provided by entrants (including information provided on the entry form) is subject to Sponsor's privacy policy, a copy of which can be found at: meijer.com/Privacy___Security.cms. By entering this sweepstakes you consent to that collection and use in accordance with the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this privacy policy you should not enter.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO WIN A PRIZE. Sweepstakes entries will be declared to be made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of sweepstakes play. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet Access provider, Online Service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to prohibit the participation of an individual if fraud, use of robotic, automatic, programmed or like entry methods, or tampering is suspected, or if the individual fails to comply with any requirement of participation or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner as stated herein or with any provision in these Official Rules. If for any reason the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, human error or any other cause beyond the control of Sponsor that corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes and award all prizes claimed prior to cancellation or termination. Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges. INTERNET CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSORS AND PROMOTER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW. GOVERNING LAW & VENUE: The courts in Kent County, Michigan will have sole jurisdiction of any controversies regarding the Sweepstakes and the laws of the state of Michigan shall govern without regard to choice of law provisions. Each entrant waives any and all objections to jurisdiction and hereby irrevocably submits to the venue of those courts within Kent County, Michigan.

Privacy and Security

Meijer has adopted policies that govern our collection and use of personal information and we expect our team members to comply with these policies. We are accountable for complying with these policies and will take reasonable and timely steps to ensure compliance. Except as described in this Policy or as otherwise required by law, we will not sell, rent or give information which identifies you personally to anyone. Personal information is information about you that is not publicly available and can identify you, such as your name, mailing address, email address, and phone number.

What Personal Information Do We Collect?

When you visit the Site, our web server automatically recognizes your domain name, IP address, your computer's operating system, browser type, the address of the web page you're coming from and of those pages you visit on our Site. We may store that information and use it to customize content presented to you. We use this data in the aggregate to determine how much our customers use parts of our Site so we can improve it. We and our partners collect information about you when you visit the Site, such as the pages you visit and product information you view. We may do this by any or all of cookies, flash cookies, pixel tags (also called clear gifs, web beacons, or web bugs), and/or iFrames. Cookies, flash cookies, pixel tags and/or iFrames may be placed by Meijer or by one of our partners. The information we collect helps us better manage the Site, provides ease of use of the Site for you, and provides more effective marketing to you.
We use a third-party service provider to serve ads on our behalf across the Internet and sometimes on the Site. At times we match personal information we collect from users of the Site and our Promotional Programs with this offline data in order to carry out our services and conduct target advertising and promotions more effectively.

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

All personal information that we collect may be used to improve our Site, used to customize the content or layout of our Site pages for individual visitors, used to notify customers about updates to the Site, used by us and our service providers to contact customers for marketing purposes, used to communicate with our customers about their orders or accounts (transactional and administrative messages), and used for product recalls.

From time to time, we may use your personal information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. Both of these links will send you to the account sign in. Once signed in, you can (1) change your personal profile, (2) unsubscribe from Meijer emails (other than administrative emails), and (3) manage your subscriptions to certain Promotional Programs.
